Who is yogalexa?
Hi! My name is Alexa and I’m delighted to welcome you here. I walked in to a studio January 2014 at home in PEI, with no clue what to expect, started their 30 day challenge, and never stopped. I fell in love with the movement, the breath, the ‘dance’ of yoga. It became my light through my darkest times, a pass time passion, and a guiding force beyond the mat.
My teaching journey began immediately after my certification in January 2019 @yogadublin, surrounded by a plethora of widely skilled and trained instructors and other movement and wellness professionals who offered great guidance daily. I have led and currently lead virtual, and in-person classes in various places since, and have begun to build a YouTube channel where I put up the odd class. Over the years, my training has included two 200 hour Yoga Teacher Training’s (YTT) through @yogabody (2018) and @delasolyoga (2023) respectively, 25hr Restorative YTT through @downwarddogyoga (2020), another 40hr Restorative YTT (2023/2024) with @andreamariepeloso. Additionally, a 5hr Science of Stretching Course (2021) & 30hr Yoga Trapeze YTT (2023) with @yogabody, and a short Chair Yoga training through the YMCA (2023). Finally, a 20hr Yin Teacher Training through @delasolyoga (2025)!
I cannot wait to keep learning more and share this amazing practice!I love a flow class, curiosity-minded movement, and deep energetically introspective poses. I lead women’s circles, retreats, classes, privates, mentorships, & workshops.

Brief Fun Facts:
- I’ve lived for a year or longer in 4 different provinces, and 4 different countries respectively over the years, mostly by an ocean or on an island.
- I’m typically a cat person, but my husband’s maltipoo has stolen my heart completely!
- I’m the youngest of four, with a 100% Dutch heritage as far back as I can trace (both parents immigrated over too).
- I have disliked cake and most baked goods since I was tiny, favouring an apple in their stead most often.
- One thing I wouldn’t change about my appearance is my green eyes that I inherited from my Mom from her Mom. Green is also my favourite colour.

Amongst numerous workshops, hundreds of classes, and personal practice, yoga has remained a top love of mine, and a deeply meaningful practice that guides my life both on and off my mat. My classes have developed to be alignment, foundation and breath focused, influenced by my teachers and trainers over the years, as well as my own curiosity and practice.
I offer privates, corporate and group classes, and look forward to practicing with you!
